Description
Pleats do to light what a blind does to daylight: they break it into strips and take the hardness out of it. This pleated ceiling light runs those pleats radially around a low dome, so the whole fitting reads as rhythm rather than as a bright disc.

Unlit, the pleats catch the daylight along their folds and put a fine shadow in each valley, so the ceiling has something to look at even in the afternoon. Lit, they filter the output into a gentle, even glow with no hard bright centre, which is the difference between a ceiling light you notice and one you squint at. The cream finish keeps it close to plaster and linen rather than competing with them.
