Woven Rope Dome Pendant Light Navelia

A dome of hand-twisted paper rope woven in an open lattice over a wire frame. Lit, the weave throws a pattern of small shadows across the ceiling and walls; unlit, it is a piece of texture hanging in the room.

Handwoven Texture Above a Table

This is the pendant for a room that has too many smooth surfaces. The rope is woven by hand in a triangular lattice, so no two shades are identical, and the light escapes through the gaps in a soft, dappled pattern rather than a single beam. Natural is the pale straw colour of the rope itself, at home with oak, linen and white walls. Coffee is a deep brown that suits darker timber and terracotta. White is bleached, quieter, and works in a bathroom or a pale bedroom. At 25cm it hangs over a bedside, a small table or in a cluster; at 30cm it carries a dining table for four or a kitchen island. The fitting and cable are black, and the drop is cut to length at installation.
