Description
Two simple forms, set against each other. This frosted globe wall light holds a milky glass sphere alongside a slender vertical stem of plated iron, so the globe appears to float against the line rather than sit on it.
A Sphere Balanced Against a Line
Switched off, the fitting is worth looking at: the tension between the round and the straight is the whole design, and it reads as a small piece of wall sculpture. Switched on, the frosted glass does the real work. It diffuses a G9 lamp into an even, shadowless glow with no visible hotspot anywhere in the sphere, which is what makes it comfortable beside a bed, along a hallway, or flanking a mirror where a hard source would throw shadow across a face. At around 7 W the fitting draws very little, and because the G9 lamp is a standard replaceable type there is no sealed module to fail. Gold warms cream and timber schemes; black draws the stem as a line against paler walls.

Where to Use It
Use a pair either side of a mirror or a bed, or a run of three down a hallway. The even glow is what makes it work at face height where a directional fitting would not.
