Bauhaus Tiered Metal Pendant Light Dorina

Three stepped rings of painted metal, each a little smaller than the one above, with the bulb hidden behind the lowest. The shape comes from the Danish lamps of the sixties that borrowed the Bauhaus rules: flat planes, a clean stack, one colour. Lit, the light bounces between the tiers and falls softly onto the table.

Light Between the Tiers, Not in Your Eyes

The three tiers do the work of a diffuser. The bulb sits behind the bottom ring, so from a chair you see the glow between the layers rather than the bulb itself. At 35cm wide it holds its own over a dining table for four or six, or over a kitchen island as a single statement rather than a row. The cord is 150cm and is shortened at installation. It takes one E27 bulb up to 40W, mains wired. The body is iron and aluminium with a matt painted finish, around 1kg.
